“World Courier has been integral to the global organization of the expedition and as such,
I consider them a full member of the Tara Oceans team. If you compare the costs and energy of the expedition to each sample shipped, you understand the need to have complete trust in your logistics provider. The people at World Courier are doing an amazing job.”

World Courier's Role
As the official logistics supplier to the Tara Oceans expedition, World Courier transports concentrated seawater samples under a variety of rigorous temperature-controlled conditions from some of the world’s most remote ports-of-call.
The specimens are shipped at a variety of temperature ranges: +15°C to +25°C (controlled ambient), +2°C to +8°C (refrigerated), -80°C (frozen) and -196°C (packed in liquid nitrogen), demanding the utmost precision and attention to detail on the part of World Courier. At the same time, we also manage consolidated shipments of consumable products needed to replenish TARA at the each port and supply the emergency spare parts needed to keep her sailing smoothly and on schedule.
Recognizing the importance of protecting our environment, World Courier formalized its sponsorship with Tara Oceans in April 2010, making a very generous financial commitment to help support this important ongoing research.
